New Year, New Beginnings

LC-0001

January 8, 2026

Christopher E. Maynard

As we begin a new year, 2026 gives us something simple but powerful, a fresh start. Not because everything from last year disappears, but because we’re given another opportunity to recommit ourselves to why we are here as Knights.

Each of us joined the Knights of Columbus for a reason. For some, it was service. For others, fraternity, faith, or the chance to give back to our parish and community. A new year is a good moment to quietly ask ourselves whether our actions still line up with that reason.

A renewed commitment doesn’t have to be big or complicated. It might mean being more present at meetings, lending a hand when help is needed, welcoming new members more intentionally, or simply encouraging a Brother who could use it. Small acts, done consistently, are what keep our council strong.

As officers and members, the tone of our council is shaped by what we prioritize. If we start this year focused on service, unity, and supporting one another, the rest tends to fall into place.

So as we step into 2026, let this be a year where we don’t just continue our work, but we renew our commitment to doing it with purpose, humility, and fraternity. A new year is a gift. How we use it together is what matters most.
