Stewardship of Our Council

LC-0003

March 5, 2026

Christopher E. Maynard

As we reflect on our council tonight, it’s worth remembering that we are still a relatively new council. Our time less than what we can count on both hands. We don’t have decades of history behind us, which makes what we’ve accomplished in a short period of time even more meaningful.

Under our recent leadership, we have grown in membership. We’ve become stronger, more active, and more engaged. That kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because Brothers commit their time, their effort, and their energy to something bigger than themselves.

We’ve made a real impact, not only through the success of our ID Drive and other fundraisers, but through all the work we’ve done within our parish and throughout the community. Families have been helped, needs have been met, and our presence has been felt. That is stewardship in action.

Stewardship isn’t just about maintaining what exists, it’s about building, strengthening, and expanding. It’s about recognizing that what we do today shapes what this council becomes tomorrow.

As a newer council, we have something powerful in front of us… Opportunity. We get to define our culture. We get to shape our traditions.  We get to decide what kind of example we will set for the men who join after us.

Looking forward, the question isn’t whether we can continue to grow, we’ve already proven we can. The question is how intentionally we choose to lead, to serve, and to support one another as we do.

If we continue to approach our work with purpose, unity, and a commitment to one another and our families, then the years ahead will be even stronger than the ones behind us. We are not just participating in this council, we are building it. And that is a responsibility worth taking seriously.
