The Work We Do - and Why We Do It

As Knights, we are called to be active. To step forward. To give our time and effort to the work of the council. That work takes many forms.  It’s the events we support, the activities we plan, the time we give up from our schedules to be present and contribute.

None of it happens without the willingness of our Brothers, all of you, me, and the rest of our Council, to step in and do the work. But as important as that work is, it’s just as important that we remember why we do it. We don’t do this for recognition. We don’t do it for credit. And we don’t do it so our individual efforts are noticed.

That’s not what defines us as Knights. We do it to support our charities. To strengthen our parish. To serve our community. And to stand beside one another as Brother Knights.

The impact we make isn’t found in who gets recognized, it’s found in the results of what we accomplish together. It’s in the families who are helped, the needs that are met, and the example we set through our actions.

There’s a quiet strength in that kind of service. A humility that says the work matters more than the recognition. And when we approach our efforts with that mindset, something important happens.  Our council grows stronger. The mission becomes clearer.  And the impact becomes greater than any one individual.

So as we continue our work, let’s stay focused on what truly matters, serving with purpose, supporting one another, and remaining humble in the process. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about being seen. It’s about making a difference
